Fjällräven update the Kajka Backpack

Fjällräven's first product was an aluminium framed backpack which was designed by the brand’s founder Ake Nordin in 1960. Since then, the Swedish brand has flourished into an institution producing hard wearing, highly functional products made for the outdoors. Wander around camp at any Fjallraven Classic (like we did in the Cairngorms) and you’ll be greeted with a sea of Kajka packs.

The new Kajka pack features 18 improvements over the previous model that was last updated in 2013 and includes design revisions that make improve repairability, reduce weight and now includes recycled materials.

New, lighter design

While staying true to what makes the Kajka unique, this latest version has a lighter construction and new design with integrated side pockets. This ensures the all-new Kajka offers the same durability, functionality and capacity as its predecessor from 2013, while providing improved comfort.

 Recycled materials

In this new version, the ultra-durable Vinylon fabric has been complemented with reinforcements in 500D recycled nylon and a lining made from 210D recycled nylon. The wooden support frame that supports the pack is still present which is slimmed to reduce the carbon footprint by 10%.

 More practical storage

The new Kajka’s side pockets are designed with zips that open all the way round – making it easy to access their contents from both the front and back. Angled bottle pockets are easy to access without removing your pack and the main compartment also features a new, fully-zipped front opening that gives an easy overview of the contents.

 Greater carrying comfort

Carrying heavy loads for longer is easier thanks to perfected shoulder straps and an upgraded hip belt that offers extra adjustment and can be altered to different widths to ensure maximum comfort.

Removable Top Lid

The top can be detached from the pack and clipped onto the chest strap or removed comply and used as a hip pack for those times when you just need a smaller bag.

The range consists of 5 packs, ranging from 100l down to 55l, with the 75l, 65l and 55l available in two different sized fits.

The packs will be available in Spring and more information can be found at Fjällräven.com.
